Tallinn, Estonia, Spring 2016 Edition

August 5, 2016

As a child, having lived only in cities in India, when someone asked me where in the world I'd like to go, Estonia firmed its way into my imagination before I had any conception of what I might want a place I visited to be like...

Streets of Bogotá, La Candelaria neighborhood

Bogotá Highlights

August 21, 2015

Colombia - the land of corn, coffee, fruit, fútbol and friendly people. We were fortunate enough to experience a little bit of it all even while spending most of our time in one city: Bogotá. A few days of cold rain at the start of our trip meant taking Ubers everywhere, but the sun and warmth on our last few days meant spontaneous stops for buttery arepas from street vendors or tasty coffee at outdoor coffee shops.

The streets of DC, U St. neighborhood

Washington, DC Highlights

July 7, 2015

Early Saturday morning of Memorial Day Weekend we boarded Mega Bus en route to Washington, DC. With Prem's parents in tow, who had never been to the capital, our goal was to make sure they experienced the monuments and history but also the food and culture. These are two important sides of life in DC but couldn't be more different; the area around the monuments and White House is very quiet and pristine, while there's more hustle and bustle and "city life" around U Street, 14th Street, and Dupont Circle. Here are some food and drink highlights from our short weekend.

Nashville Highlights

May 27, 2015

Over President’s Day Weekend we escaped to Nashville with a couple of friends. It’s in the South, we thought. It will definitely be warmer than New York. Wrong. The South was experiencing a rare case of low temperatures, so while we managed to escape the hustle and bustle of NYC, we did not escape the cold. In fact, our return flights got canceled several times because of an ice storm and we ended up staying down South for an extra three days. Nonetheless, we had a great time exploring Nashville and all its little quirks. Here are some highlights.
