Winter solstice was just upon us, but given the 60F Christmas we are about to have, perhaps we can stretch fall a little longer. This cocktail of fall ingredients will keep you cozy right through winter…
RECIPE: The Sackett (or Bourbon Rosemary Cider) Cocktail
Serves one
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 2 ounces apple cider
- dash of orange bitters
- dash of ground cinnamon
- dash of ground cloves
- sprig of rosemary, plus a few leaves
- a couple squirts of fresh lemon juice
- lemon peel twist
- ice
To Prepare:
- Combine bourbon, cider, bitters, cinnamon, cloves, a few torn rosemary leaves, lemon juice and ice in a large glass or cocktail mixer. Stir to combine.
- Strain bourbon mixture in to a separate glass with fresh ice. Twist the peel over the drink to release citrus oils. Rub the peel around the rim of the glass and then use it as a garnish, along with a sprig of rosemary.
Prem doesn't like apple cider (too sweet) but he found this to be wonderfully balanced.
